Matthew Brown
Founding Director & Principal
Matthew Brown is the visionary founder and principal of Stoneshore Medical Equipment, a healthcare investment group focused on acquiring and scaling profitable Durable Medical Equipment (DME) companies with $2M–$6M in EBITDA. Under Matthew’s leadership, Stoneshore is executing a national roll-up strategy backed by a board with over $10 billion+ in
healthcare and M&A experience.
Known for his integrity-driven approach, Matthew specializes in preserving founder legacies while bringing operational discipline, modern growth strategies, and financial rigor to the businesses he acquires. Prior to founding Stoneshore, he gained hands-on experience in ecommerce, direct sales, and brand optimization, which now informs his innovative approach to growing healthcare platforms.
Matthew leads deal sourcing, strategic partnerships, and board coordination. Headquartered in Chicago, he is building Stoneshore into a leading acquirer and operator in the U.S. healthcare space—positioned to deliver long-term value through smart capital deployment and operational excellence.
Kirk Otis
Chairman of the Board
Kirk Otis is a seasoned M&A executive and capital strategist with over 30 years of experience leading more than $13.5 billion in strategic transactions across healthcare, industrials, and technology sectors. As Chairman of Stoneshore, Kirk provides high-level guidance on acquisitions, capital structuring, and investor relations.
His experience spans CFO roles, corporate development at DSC Communications and Nortel Networks, and leadership as CEO of TriLumina, a semiconductor safety company acquired by Lumentum. At Nortel, Kirk managed Nortel Ventures, a $250M investment portfolio spanning venture capital and private equity investments.
He is also President of the North Texas Keiretsu Forum, the world’s largest angel investor network, and holds board and advisory positions across numerous high-growth companies. Kirk holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Thaddeus Thompson
Chief Executive Officer
Thaddeus Thompson is a seasoned healthcare executive, board advisor, and clinician with over 25 years of experience leading operations, strategy, and service line development across the full spectrum of healthcare—from critical access hospitals to large academic medical centers. As CEO of Stoneshore Medical Equipment, Thaddeus leads the firm’s national healthcare roll-up strategy, overseeing operations, post-acquisition integration, and long-term growth planning.
Thaddeus is the Managing Director of Leland Healthcare Advisors & Consultants, where he advises healthcare organizations on performance improvement, strategic transformation, and leadership development. He previously served in multiple executive roles within Mass General Brigham, including Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and Administrative Director of Clinical & Perioperative Services at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. His leadership resulted in service line expansion, revenue growth, and improved access to care across several
specialties.
He holds a Master’s in Health Policy & Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from Florida A&M University, along with executive certifications in strategic management and board governance.
David Ogurek
Chief Financial Officer
David Ogurek is a seasoned finance leader with over two decades of experience in M&A advisory, financial modeling, and corporate integration. As Chief Financial Officer of Stoneshore Medical Equipment, David oversees financial diligence, valuation, and capital deployment strategies for all acquisitions, ensuring the firm maintains financial discipline while scaling through acquisition.
David currently serves as a Director at Caber Hill Advisors, where he has led or supported over 100 transactions across healthcare and middle-market industries. His background includes roles in M&A integration at Connect Hearing and corporate accounting leadership at Pepsi Beverages Company, where he gained experience managing complex transactions and post-merger integration.
David holds a B.S. in Finance from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
Tim Myszkowski
Controller
Tim Myszkowski is an accomplished accounting and finance executive with over 15 years of experience managing the financial operations of high-growth and private equity-backed companies. As Controller of Stoneshore Medical Equipment, Tim oversees financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls across the platform’s growing portfolio of healthcare acquisitions.
Tim currently serves as VP of Finance & Controller at IronNet, and previously held senior finance roles at Infogix, Stratapult, and Sidley Austin LLP. He has led ERP implementations, managed multi-entity consolidations, and ensured full compliance with ASC 606, GAAP standards, and financial audit processes.
Tim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Illinois. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara and an MBA from Benedictine
University.
David Weinberg
Industry Expert & Board Advisor
David Weinberg is a nationally recognized healthcare operator, investor, and innovator with over 40 years of experience in the medical industry. He is the Founder and CEO of Advanced Care, a leading Durable Medical Equipment provider serving over 7,000 patients in New York. Under David’s leadership, Advanced Care has become a dominant force in incontinence, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and intermittent catheter resupply services.
David also serves as Vice President of Sterling Universal Group, helping commercialize AI-powered robotics in healthcare. He is a Principal at Q-Bank Group, a healthcare-focused private equity firm with operations across the Americas and Europe. As a board advisor at Stoneshore, David offers unmatched insights into payer relationships, clinical operations, and growth optimization in the DME space.
Scott Schafer
Industry Expert & Board Advisor
Scott Schafer is a high-performing healthcare sales executive and operator with over 20 years of leadership experience across pharmaceuticals, medical supply distribution, and durable medical equipment (DME). As an Industry Expert on the Stoneshore Medical Equipment board, Scott brings deep frontline knowledge of HME/DME sales strategy, distribution, franchise operations, and national account management.
Scott previously led a $100M+ P&L as Area Sales Manager at McKesson, managing home health and HME markets across six states. He consistently ranked top in performance and has also successfully founded and exited a D2C epoxy floor coating business in the franchise space. Scott holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration from The University of Dallas.
